Different driver/driving style? If not there could be something wrong that requires further investigation as normally the lockup in these things is barely noticeable. The car doesn't lurch forward or clunk or anything like that. Pretty sure its been doing it since day one, I just never really thought to do anything about it. Given I'm approaching my umpteenth visit to Fraud for warranty repairs I thought bugger it, I'll get them to take a look.Yes it is the ZF

Thanks all - I will report back and let you know what the geniuses at Fraud decide the problem is.Ambient temp is fine but yeah... fuel gauge still no good. Can't wait till all these nigglies are sorted out so that I don't have to have the inconvenience of going there (my mechanic is so much easier to get to and near work for pick ups and drop offs) and then... well, I can not worry about my warranty when tinkering with it
midnight Member 62 Member For: 16y 6m 30d Gender: Male Location: s/west Victoria Posted 15/07/09 04:14 AM Share Posted 15/07/09 04:14 AM I used to own a 2005 f250 7.3 turbo diesel auto which did the same thing. I didnt realise what it was at first because it seems some what wierd when engine revs are droping but the speed is increasing. When the torque convertor is slipping it is generating heat. I did a lot of towing with the f250 and guess what happen...fried the auto! Luckily it was fixed under warranty.I did find a fix on another forum it which I could manual lock the convertor. This worked well but the only problem was that you had to remember to turn it off when you stopped or it would stall the engine.I will have to pay more attention to my fg next time I drive it but I have not noticed it doing it.
