The cars I mean are the typical lancers, excels and pulsars to name a few. I have nothing wrong with people driving these cars but I'm over the canon exhausts, shopping trolley wings, stickers etc. What is more annoying and concerning is the people that are driving these cars think their a super car. I had a young guy driving a lancer with the exhaust, spoiler etc over take me and 3 others and only just made it, thanks so someone letting him in whilst a car was coming in the opposite direction. Then later on he over took across double lines, every set of light he would take off revving the thing trying to race anyone he could. I also had a Mazda 6 with "P" plates, 2 large exhaust tips and rims try to run me yesterday. I didn't bother thinking about having a run, I know I would beat him and it would only entice him to race on the streets. As expected he took off revving the thing beyond its limits. Some Saturday nights I can hear the 4 bangers with the exhausts flying down the street and taking off from the corner trying to spin the wheels, got woken up 6 times last Saturday night. I live in a rural area, so their often driving around the streets with speed because of little traffic or cops.I do appreciate young kids spending some cash on their first car and some do come up looking nice, but please stop thinking their a track car once an exhaust and rims has been fitted... Anyways, that's my whinge for the day and I hope I didn't offend anyone on here.Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/59543-my-whinge/ Share on other sites

I was casually driving to a friends on friday night and gave it a boot to get on the highway as u do. Next thing this POS exa with p plates on it and exhaust etc came up along side me revving it up with a full car load of kids! I wouldnt give him the time of day as we know what the result would be. Once in a blue moon would I give many cars a go on the street as there is too much to loose and I wouldnt want to be the cause of a car full of kids dying! Its a little disturbing! Pointing and laughing usually does the trick especially if you got a carload of people and they all do it, works a treat. Posted 13/07/09 04:23 AM Share Posted 13/07/09 04:23 AM Back in my day......it was torries, xb's and kingswood 253'sAll full of kids just as silly and just as (presumeably) bullet-proof.They'll grow up and get old and complain about the youth doing the same thing in 20 or so years time, so take heart, thier turn will come. I'm only 21 and my first car was a Lancer while I was at school. And the Ute in my signature when I was 18 and now at 21 the F6.The only difference between the torrie, XB and kingswood days and now is the culture that is being injected into our society by movies, games, tv etc. I'll be the first to admit that in my teens I was not the most sensible driver but I was nothing like mentioned here. But haveing spent time in the county and in the cities... I reckon that the city young driver population is more a danger... the sheer population vs area could be the contributor of this. In the country there is open spaces less population and less power poles. There is a stereotype label that has been put against the "rice" community, this I think is the responsibility of the media fueling the fire as I said before. and its not only young drivers (teens/early 20s) but the older group too. However I thing young driver are the most responsible for the stupid factor. This is my 2cLAWS WILL NOT STOP THE FATALITIES ON THE ROADS. All this bullsh*t with power restrictions, while it may help in the minority of cases, when I see these stories on the news and such, the majority are either cardboard box 4cyl cars or 6Cly commy/fords wrapped around poles. All of these cars are capable of very very fast speeds (as we all know), and faster acceleration and speeds than say an WB V8 can achieve. My BF XR6 Ute was faster than an S/C V6 Expensive Daewoo and a lot of V8s so how does this help the age group...?The bottom line is no matter what car they/we drive, the best way to give us (new drivers) a fighting chance is training! I did a DD course when I was on my learners that BMA/BHP offered to their employee's families. It was the best thing I ever done and I took a lot away from it and was a better driver from it. This is what our government should be rolling out in EVERY school in Australia FREE OF CHARGE! And for those who are not in school it should be a free option when applying for a license. Its too easy for the politicians to save money and write new laws, but they are missing the big picture. I can ignore those who come up next to you revving and carrying on, but those who tailgate because you have a nice and/or fast car I have no patience for.I'm sorry if this was a HijackCheersCameron Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/59543-my-whinge/#findComment-905915 Share on other sites

Of all the pee-brained drivers, surely the Late model camira still wins here. Unfortunate as it is, the number of timesI see a car wrapped around a pole/tree w/meat wagon in background on the TV.. inevitably its a Commodore. The guys driving 4s seem to like racingmore on the street as they probably have more to prove. Any standard Late model camira or Falcon(FG especially), will mop the floor with nearly every4 cylinder car out there in a straight line, including taxis. I am convinced that the typical 18yr-21yr non-car enthusiast punk will always fall for a Late model camira with mag wheels. Why? It is the most 'accepted' car for a male that age to drive. Ford is still not the 'cool' brand... which I actually appreciate being a Ford man through and through. Less idiots drive them IMO.You do have your Expensive Daewoo enthusiasts who buy them, which is fine... Most are not. I used to know a private car dealer with his own dealership, always told me that he'd take all the 2nd hand Commodores he could get then simply tint the windows/put mags on... they would FLY out the door!! Huh?Not many rexxes or evo's get "mopped" by taxis..... Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/59543-my-whinge/#findComment-905942 Share on other sites
