xrsix Member 16 Member For: 15y 10m 24d Posted 11/07/09 03:16 AM Share Posted 11/07/09 03:16 AM I recently purchased a second hand pair of BA premo front calipers and rotors off Ebay that came without the hose bracket. My question is do I need to use that bracket to make it work or can I modify my standard hose bracket? I'm also thinking about getting a custom made braided hose from Hoppers stoppers. Would that solve my problem?

The standard ones are too short. You may as well get braided ones while you're at it.They will fit into the bracket no problem.

Posted 11/07/09 05:31 AM Share Posted 11/07/09 05:31 AM are you talking about the hose locator bracket that is bolted on to the caliper? If so that bracket is different between the standard setup and the premo setup. I discovered this when I installed some premos that I got and found the gromets on the braided lines wouldnt go into the bracket and were too long. I think your on the right idea getting some custom lines made up. Unfortunately I had already installed the lines when I discovered they were wrong and as such are just floating ATM untill I can sort something out. Does anyone have these already made up to suit?PBR/Bosch makes the Premo brakes fitted by the Ford Factory. The factory system comes with rubber lines. PBR/Bosch also make an aftermarket version of the Premo kit, that comes with braided lines. PBR/Bosch also sell braided lines as individual components for all four wheels. From memory, the pair of lines for one end of the car is handed whereas the pair for the other end of the car are the same.Again from memory, the lines are somewhat over $100 per corner. The fit, materials, construction and finish is fantastic.Performance.I didn't expect to find much if any difference with the braided lines. They are however very different from the low expansion rubber hoses. The braided lines have created a vast improvement in the actual speed of initial brake force application and in the speed of all braking responses. The brakes though always brilliant are now simply much, much faster in reponding to control inputs and control imput variations, furthermore, the inputs are now faithfully replicated in braking response in exceedingly fine detail. So, all good. The braided lines designed for the actual car are available off the shelf, from PBR/Bosch, the designer and supplier of the actual braking system to Ford.Regards,aa Edited 11/07/09 06:16 AM by aiboart
