G'day to all,

Had a search through the forum but couldn't find an answer.

I had the XR6T (03 BA) lowered on king springs with SL all around and a set of new tyres all on the stock 17's yesterday. Very happy with the result. However, I have noticed that at very slow speeds, for example, turning into my drive way at home, I now get a vibration through the power steering that never used to be there. Apart from this the car still drives very well.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is it a result of the lowering or is my power steering stuffed with the extra bit of pressure as the result of the lowering. Worried that I am doing damage!

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Cheers.

I had this when I lowered my baxr8 and it turned out to be the steering rack needed tightening, got the same thing in my bf2 turbo at standard height. If it is the same I think its a design thing that happens wether you lower it or not.

They should not be touching the power steering pump or rack when lowering the car. I just put King SL springs in the front of mine and you will get shudder when turning but it should go away after a few lock to lock turns.

Its just air in the power steer, you get that when you move the wheels side to side whilst on the stands if you dont have the motor running. Jack the front up start the car and go from lock to lock a dozen times slowly pausing at the full lock positions and that should get rid of your shudder.
