The drivers seat is starting to squeak constantly when I'm driving and it's driving me nuts before I take it in for a warrany repair I was hoping that someone might be able to direct me to the apparent loose bolts that are causing the noise bearing in mind that the underside of the seat is a mine field with all sorts of wires and motors. It makes the sound when you switch directions from left to right or vice versa and sometimes when going over a bump but this is less common. :yikes: Bearing in mind that I havn't even booked it in to have this looked at atm I am hoping it's just a minor thing that can be fixed at home in 5-6 minutes.

I checked for the rubbing but this is definately from within the chair and very and extremly loud like an old hinge on a door over and over again.

I have had 2 sorts of squeaks, which I have fixed both myself as I didn't even think I could be bothered begging to Ford on my hands and knees to please replace it...

Squeak 1: The leather was rubbing on the plastic sides of the seats (both front seats) so I found some adhesive felt (available in various colours and style/thicknesses from places light spotlight and even Bunnings, and cut it to the same shape as the plastic and applied it along the top. This looks stock and not cheap/nasty and has not made 1 noise since!

Squeak 2: The under seat noise which is what is discussed above.. Sounds like a hinge and drove me INSANE for around 2 months before I went to town under the chair! At first, I lubricated everything as carefully as I could, but what sadly that didn't help.. I was very confused haha.. The next week I went into a bit more depth and found out in my case is was the main bolts that hold the seat base to the rails (4 big bolts, one in each colour) so I lubricated them again and double checked they were tight. Success!

So I don't know if this is going to help you guys too much, but I think its worth putting up since I had 2 different sorts that I was able to fix.

Good luck :spit:

My driver door started buzzing last night - then the window started going down slowly on its own!

I put it back up, it went down really fast and then was stuck there. Luckily I parked it in the garage last night and have taken it to Fraud this morning. Let's hope the farkers fix it, it's pretty hard to drive around and park your car even at the shops with an open window!
