The Government offered a 3% payrise across the board which equates to about a $40 per week payrise for the average police officer, and said that if anymore was wanted the police would have to give up conditions those on the agender are 12 hour shifts and death and dissability payments, 12 hour shifts are a blessing but are not the big issue what is is the death and dissability scheme it would mean that if an officer was hurt in the course of there duties they would receive 2 years pay and a pat on the back thanks go and join the job cue with our simpathy. Nice!!!

This is just the start of the rolling action that will take place and it does need to be advertised just wait untill work to rule comences then there will be some real changes. Just imagine if those people that fought in military action were given 2 years pay and then cut loose after they are injured to the extent that they couldnt do meaningful work and were pushed out onto the street in a dribbling mess in there wheel chairs, because this is what they want for the police force, no matter what you think of the police this sought of thing is an unasseptable way of treaing those whose job it is to protect you.

The effect would be that the front line police would be a whole lot less willing to put themselves at risk to protect others and this is a situation we do not need. :spoton:

Mate

That is not far from the truth (the military bit I mean). I want go into details, but I suffered a fairly substantional injury, one which stops me doing the line and many similiar lines of work that I would normally choose. I got nothing. I will be careful and not elaborate anymore. All I can say is mate you having experienced an injury and with the very fair likelihood that you cpould be injured in the line of duty. Fight and fight hard, as once its gone, it will never come back.

Well where all waiting? Why, so far is it only about the issuing of fines??

And the only advice im giving, is dont test them out.

The boys will be "working to rule" that means no TIN's for minor traffic matters and 1 job at a time. You call, Police come, Police go back to station, do paperwork till job is complete, then onto the next.

Simple offences will be responded to in days not hours under this system.

I guarantee if you drive speed / manner dang, over 45kph, street race, burnout etc, you will be off to court.

Over 15's, under 15's most likely a caution but it is up to the officer.

Definately not worth the risk.

its always funny when someone mentions "work to rule" in my employment. I work in infustrature for the railways and during our last battle with the state govt for our 4% increase someone mentioned at a union meeting that they were going to either strike or "work to rule". I just thought to myself, dont you work by the rule anyways. If you dont work by the rules and something goes wrong your basically up sh$t creek without a paddle if you caused an incident were there was a fatality

Ofcourse this would probably be alot different in other industries and the police force.

Has anyone noticed how well the f3 has been flowing over the past week, my travel time was down by an hour. Right lane moving at a comfortable speed, people keeping left and I havent seen an accident yet as aopposed to my average of about 4.

I would love to see the accident statistics for the no fie week across NSW, now imagine if speed cameras were doing the same thing and not flashing for under 15 over the limit.

I'm surprised we haven't all been killed on the roads already....

Slymeat and I.B. I guess you guys attend to accidents fairly often, have you noticed any differences in numbers and severity and also general driver behavior?
