In NSW it's a 24hr cooling off period from dealers. I don't think there is much to protect you from a private sale. Sorry to hear about your purchase matey.

I know what your saying there Senna, I also work at a dealership and have had for the last 16 yrs. The best comeback line I ever heard was when a farmer called the DP "a typical car salesman thief" he replied "are all farmers cattle duffers?", the stupid *beep* didnt know what to say.

Salesmen, real estate agents and anyone in sales.. of course they are trying to make a profit. It's their job and livelihood. They'd starve if they didn't make a profit. As with anything, there are bad ones and good ones.

As for your purchase of a lemon, sorry mate there's no legal way of getting any of your money back in WA. Get it checked and work out whether it's a head gasket or the head. Might not be as expensive to fix as you think.

Brandon, nobody MADE you buy the car, you could have had it checked out by a mechanic.

It is not up to the person selling it to be honest about all fo the problems. They need to point out the possitive and skip the negative.

You only have yourself to blame for not being a vigilant buyer, instead you took the bait hook, line and sinker.

Also remember the seller may not have known about thie problem.
