Hey mate, not sure if the FG xr6 turbo is the same servicing wise, but mine cost me $240 odd. They used Castrol Magnatec for the servicing. I was told it was the fully synthetic but I'm not 100% as the invoice only shows "Castrol Magnatec".

Thanks Mate, yeah I think Castrol Magnatec is a semi synthetic oil and what my dealer uses as well. I'm being stung $350 for the 15,000ks service, when originally when I bought the car I was told the services at 15,000ks intervals were between $250 - $280 (hmmm, must be inflation or something  )

Yeah no worries mate, that makes me feel a bit better I suppose, just thought $350 for some oil, a filter and the time to change them was a bit high. After this service I think I might consider elsewhere (provided there are no real warranty issues in the future) as I'm sure a decent mechanical shop would charge far less.

I've just grabbed the invoice now that I'm back at home, this is the actual price:

Total Invoice: $208.25

Breakdown: 15k / 1Yr Service = $100.25 (includes Filter, fluids etc)

Labour : $108.00

Oil: Magnatec FMX 10W30 = I'm pretty sure you are right and this is just a semi-synthetic. There is a magnatec that is fully synthetic but it is 5W30 I think...

And yes, this was at my local Fraud dealer...

Hope this helps.

The dealerships have their own individual preferences for oil, is not a national standard thing. So it's a case of just getting what you're given unless you specify otherwise or do it yourself.

Hey guys,

Mine is coming up to 30k service.

Do you know which one are the major services that 'have' to be done by ford?

My mechanic says he can do most services for me, but some 'have' to be done by ford.

Just wondering the reason.

Cheers,

well mine a little under $400.00 they did use synthetic though
