BLK6T, that sounds a lot like my inlaws, they all complain why Falcons still use 'outdated' inline 6 cylinders, yet they are more balanced, more power more torque and better on fuel than a revvy noisy Late model camira v6. I think you'll find most decent Late model camira folk will admit the Falcon six is a 'good package'....

Whenever I try and say that the VE had all those recalls, I always get "at least Expensive Daewoo recall their mistakes!"

When my mates say my car is a piece of crap I usually say 'that's not what your missus said last night'

They generally dont know what to say after that and if they do just go for the jugular and tell them 'if you could afford one you wouldn't be sayng that'

I usually get most of them with this.....I have to admit the Expensive Daewoo chev engine is so much better for horsepower than the ford... also the ford engine every time you accelerate hard there all blowing smoke and sh*t out of the exhaust...Isn't that right....you say....9 times out of 10 they say fark yeh pieces of sh1t...

Then you hit with....that's right your always behind them that's why you see the smoke....

If it's in front of there mates...there mates are pissing themselves laughing and there lost for words....

Gen 3 v8- Cant be bored, only can go 10thou hone (Throw away engine block)

Gen 3 v8- Known for rattles and oil consumption due to poor machining tolerances

I thought the Gen III had liners as it was an alloy block? Oil problems were largely sorted after VT II.

Hey does anyone know what causes the 'piston slap in the vx/vu gen3 engine? As I have a mate who gets it everytime he starts up in a VU ute.

if they own a Gen 3 I just say "nice piston slap" or they challange you to a race "I just polished my tailgate so you can see your reflection when you're losing"
