Hi All, New Here....

Ive been doing a bit of reading here as im new and finally set my mind on a 2007+ BF MkII XR6T at the end of this month or early next month.

The only problem is I can't find anything on the market to suit my need right now and If I cant find anything now what are the chances of finding something in 1-2 month time......I want a decent colour, Black, Ego, etc under 40,000k's, manual, leather, sunroof...( I know its a hard situation im in and I have no hope finding it to be honest)

Looks like I'll have to end up forking almost 30-32k for a 07 model if I can find one later on that's suits what I want, when the FG is only another 5-7k more (privately)..it seems like I should give up on finding a decent BF MKII...

Anyway I wanted to know if the FG would be a better purchase for the extra 5-7k for my situation, if any of you guys where in my position???

The reason im asking everyone this is because, Im getting the impression that the FB is just another BA model that will be updated to something even better. Ive noticed that you guys are saying not to get the models before 06/2006, as they have better engines after 06/06, you guys recon the same thing will happen with the FG??? or should just go with the FG over the BF MkII?? Theres pleanty of range to suit my need and im sure prices may drop a little bit more by the end of the month or 2 months time...I guess what im trying to say is, is the FG exactly the same as the MkII BF??

Cheers for the help in advance... :beerchug:

gotta remember the bf11 your looking for around 30k has prem sound leather n all that crp

he fg ull b ooking at will just b a bone stock probly...

I still think 30-32k is a bit inflated id b looking more towards 26-28

and the fg u could pick 1 up for low 30's privatly as they were selling for 35ish brand new in the fords mates deal

Depends mate, If your gonna be modding it hardcore then your better off getting the BF MkII, but if your only doing minor-mild mods then FG is fine. The reason for BF MKII is better for higher level of mods is becuase of the bigger turbo as they are running the GT35/40R as where the FG XR6T's run a smaller turbo which max's out close to 350rwkw.

Having owned each, the FG is a big step up from an already superior BA/BF. If you are into Tech, then the FG rules. The Ipod and bluetooth are great features that I use every day.

When the Turbo Terriory is released next year with the FG bits, I will get one for the wife.

If your budget can streatch to a FG then it is a better car, but not by a huge margin

Thanks for the reply guys it has helped a lot. The Mrs and I have settled with a new FG Turbo. Black in colour, manual and Black leather. Will be purchased in 2 months time....even when the MKII comes out this combo of black, black leather and manual should hold its value....and Im hoping a price drop may happen in 2 months....lets see what happens...

Ive been looking furiously and there nothing decent on the market...lol all semi auto's.....

never driven the 6speed man but I have driven the 6sp auto and they are a fantasic box. Living in Sydney Im sure the ease of not having to change gears in peak hour taffic would appeal to you

if you wanna go fast then go the auto. brilliant trans- they slot these into aston martins and some other euro luxo cars.

manuals are great fun, but an auto will be faster in the long run....

make sure you get premium sound aswell...

 I'm of the same opinion. The auto is probably better if you want to mod the car. The manual's give up the ghost early on in the modding game whereas the ZF6 auto's will allow a lot more biff through them. But you are right in one respect, the manual's resale is always higher due to their rarity.

I stewed on that for 2months before the FG's came out as with most performance cars, you would want the manual...not at all dissatisfied now that I've had the auto for over a year.

My 2cents
