when I baught my BF XR6T it came with an Autometer Cobalt Boost/Vaccume and oil pressure gauges fitted. the boost gauge works fine, however the oil pressure gauge doesnt seem to be working at all. it just sits inbetween 25 and 50 psi and doesnt move even when the car is switched off. any suggestions?

this is the particular gauge

What Are These Colored Wires On My Electric Pressure Gauge For?

Red = key on power supply

Black = common chassis ground

White (Cobalt, C2, Lunar, & NV series only) = dash lighting power

Gray, Purple, & Black = communication between sender and gauge

the power for the backlight is seperate to the power going to the oil pressure sender.

if it sitting on the same number all the time it seems that the sender has stopped sending a signal to the gauge while it was in operation at some point.

find where the oil pressure sender is, should be either on a sandwhich plate on the oil filter, or along the turbo oil supply line where it comes out of the block, and check that the plug is in properly.
