He has had this setup for 3years if not longer and never had any trouble at all, common sense mate, even travelling at high speeds an it is only so much water that can enter thru there and for it to travel up than back??? Dont think so mate... Also he has got positive comments with his setup...

the fact that there is a compressor in line with the air flow would make the ram effect invalid. ram air is turbulant air,

I have my pod filter mounted in the space behind the spot light with the spotties in place.

must work well as its making 350rwkw.

im no fancy rock scientist but why the f*ck do 4x4's have aftermarket snorkels!?

im sure a 4' gaping hole going to your airbox 6' from the ground is a FANTASTIC idea.... maybe you should do it, get stuck in a downpour and let us know how you go hey??

Mate, if you cashed in your schmick for dollars, you'd be struggling to afford a soft serve at McDonalds.

If you're in water deep enough to cover the fog light holes, you've got more to worry about than getting water in your donk.

The only way you're going to suck up water is if that CAI behind your foglight is your ONLY intake, and it is well sealed to your airbox. Then there's a chance of sucking water in, IF it gets submerged.

You will get water residue in your airbox in heavy rain through a foglight intake. Your standard CAI behind the grill does too. (That's why there's a drain hole in your airbox)

4x4 have snorkels to enable them to submerge the engine when fording a creek/river. They weren't designed as a performance modification for cold air. That is a secondary benefit. (We'd all be doing the same thing on our sports cars, if it didn't look retarded.) :stickpoke:

LMAO

Nothin' like a good old fashioned bitch-fight for a good laugh. Just don't start pulling each others hair OK, save that for the BDSM section. :thumbsup:

PS: Fair chance it would be the only intake, and what are the bigger problems you speak of?

Dont really want to wade in on this bitch fight, but this is not the first time that this has been on here (fark sounding like an old timer like Tab or Dags, but with less sarcasm). The last time it was, I was thinking about going down this route. the next day I drove past Ennogera Army Bks and there was at least a foot of water running down the gutters and 10 cm on the roads crown. I am with Trough on this one.

As stated above;

Firstly it was a suggestion,

Secondly I dont go paddy/bush and country road ways with my car, I f*#kn travel on cemented roads in melb and cant afford to damage my car in any way. If you guys travel around on puddles and $H@T, than go buy a 4WD or something as trauffle pop said above.
