hey guys

let me give you a quick run down I have a 2006 bf typhoon I recently got my car serviced at CV Performance. now normally CV do a remarkable Job on the cars.

However only recently when the car was serviced I pointed out to the guys that the steering was clicking both turning right and left and also under really hard braking they said they would fix that issue no problems. I picked up the car and the noise was gone but only for about 1 hour then started to come back worse and worse. I decided that I would take it to my old service guys at CITY FORD CROWN St Sydney. who have found that the ball joints have nearly come off and that there is know way the car was serviced correctly . now I am not going to play the blame game and I in no way want to rubbish CV but who do I believe and what do I do.

I know what most of you guys think of ford servicing but these guys at crown street have always done the right thing by me and my cars including my old bf turbo always ran well after these guys. my question is does any one Know of a really good place to get my car serviced in Sydney price is no issue I want the best.

for unbiased opinion you could take to a pedders store and ask them to check over the car , don't tell them whats wrong with it , just see what they come up with .

yep, Ford can be good if you get the right dealer.....after all they see HEAPS of our cars and in my experience can be better at diagnosing faults than regular mechanics believe it or not.

I'd follow Our06ts advice first up.

Sounds like you've already found the right place.

ive been to a few ford service centres over the years and most of the time I ended up leaving pissed off

but I have to agree that for the two or so years that I used city ford on crown street in the city I was more than happy with the service , each visit and I also found the staff good to deal with dimitri and robert I used to deal with if I still lived in the city I still be using them

What sort of k's has your car done. Flogged out ball joints already??

Also that ticking noise is more or less a warranty issue. Most of the members here have had it at some point.

ticking noise on normal cruise speeds maybe (usually brake related), not on turning and braking , there was a ford fix issued for the steering rack though loose mountings needing shimming or such

Interesting the ticking. Had a similar issue with Ole Yella , got more pronounced with speed. Car spent over a week at numerous dealers

and remained unresolved. Local tyre shop fixed it in 5 minutes , loose balancing weight.

Told both dealers to check this.... go figure
