Hi all,

Well my 2002 ba xr6t is having a spaz. I drove home let it cool down shut it off locked it with the remote all was fine. The next morning my remote would not work neither would my spare. I used the key to open and start. when I unlock the car with the key it only unlocks the drivers door odd I thought. I can unlock the other doors with the button below the stereo. When I get into the car and shut the door the locks cycle locked then unlock straight away. I can't make the doors stayed locked with the button when the car is running. It will only stayed locked when I use the key from out side. I replaced the battery's. no good. I then tried to program the remotes into the car this would not work I could put the car into program mode but it would not pick up any remotes not my two or my friends from his ba. Anyone else had this? Any body got a fix.

Cheers in advance.

James

Sounds very familiar. You more than likely have a crook BEM(Body Electronics Module). Had one of these about 6 weeks ago with the exact same symptoms. Tried replacing the RHF actuator and it made no difference. When we tried to train the remotes the vehicle would go into learn mode but wouldn't recognise them. Not sure about the cost but I think the BEM was around the $400 mark plus about a bit under an hours labour to fit and retrain the keys to the new one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Just an update on this. I pulled it in to my work shop and connected the AD100 (transponder diagnostic tool/reader I'm a locksmith) Well almost connected it plugged the cable in but not the reader. then thought I would try and program the remote one last time with the car and what do you no it worked. Damn dodgy ford and it's odd faults. Hope it lasts.
