rockafellqeinstien Member 325 Member For: 16y 5m 17d Posted 10/07/09 03:27 AM Share Posted 10/07/09 03:27 AM Is there a ford dealer in NSW (I'm in sydney but will travel upto 200km) that actually provides decent waranty work (I'll give them the service too if they are half decent)?a dealer that actually wants customers to come back.My current experiences are something like this:book car in - tell them whats wrong so they can maybe do something in advance (never happens)drop car off - tell them again. Also give additional information and explain how to replicate the problems. Offer to demonstrate it then and there - offer declined.wait for call - never comes so I call about 4:30-4:45turn up and find out I just paid $300+ for a oil and filter change (I check the filters now) and they usually miss something and charge for extra crapmost other issues are simply dismissed and as its past 5pm there is no one left to talk to. (do they get punished by ford every time they do a warranty job???) + they try to charge when they cant find a falutWhen they find a fault they usually need the car back for another full day (fair enough - they need approval to do the work) and even then they seem to stuff something up.Case of beer for any one that has a recomendation that works out

Luckily I have an awesome dealer and wouldn't even consider taking my car elsewhere. They do the job right and the prices are reasonable. Maybe the service is better in the country. You can also help your dealer by taking you car to your new tuner and getting them to do what fraud can't or won't. You know it will be done better and cheaper. We've all had issues with them, I don't anymore.Give the beer to the tuner, they deserve it.

They are generally more expensive and the reason the work is often bad is its done by apprentices. Dealers just role them over to cut costs as they don't need to worry about gettingpeople in the door. The average Joe assumes the brand dealer service must the best for their car... not always the case, often not. IMO your better asking other car enthusiasts in your area. There are good, honest locally owned mechanics out there who take pride intheir work. Better than some 16yr old punk at the Ford dealer reading orders off an idiot sheet. To be honest, I thought avoiding the dealer for servicing was more or less common knowledge.

They do a lot of in house stuff and a lot of training at Ford, as do the qualified mechanics. There are crappy apprentices and there are crappy mechanics... They work in all kinds of places. Not just Ford dealerships.

If this is refective of their workmanship I'm in luck.I might as well name the first dealer as Power Ford Castle hill and with out going into details, they suck giant buffalo balls (I am still waiting for a call to bring my car back to fix stuff (it aint going back) and also a call from the service manager after my post service survey -(both were suposed to happen over a week ago - suprise suprise). Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
