According to the Roads and Tolls Authority, this will make it a more fairer system and not raise any additional revenue for our beloved bankrupt state. The biggest change is speeding <15 and speeding >15-30. Both of these now cost 3 points for some stupid reason, where as only a few years ago <15 was only 1 point. How you lose the same points for a low speed as a moderate speed has mind boggled me for some time. This has caused a record number of NSW drivers to have lost there licence, such as during double points period. You could imagine what this would do for truck drivers, couriers, taxi and many others, and often they continue to drive, when it then gets far worse. Here are the new ones: 1 to 10kmh over the speed limit will attract one demerit point and an $84 fine;11 to 20kmh over the speed limit will attract three demerit points and a $197 fine;21 to 30kmh over the speed limit will attract four demerit points and a $338 fine;31 to 45kmh will result in a three month suspension, five demerit points and a $647 fine;Over 45kmh will result in a six month suspension, six demerit points and a $1,744 fine.Noted changes:* The old over 15-30 will now realistically cost 4 points and more $$$* Over 30 will now cost 5 points and more $$$* 0-10 will likely be rigoursly enforced by the States flash for cash devices* 1 speed on red p's has always been loss of licence, but 2 speeds on green p's will now be the sameLet the debate begin. I think the more longer tooth drivers will notice even more.http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations...hid=newdemeritsI.B.

Over 45kms is limited not by magical numbers, but by other standards.I.B.
