Posted 05/11/11 10:18 AM Share Posted 05/11/11 10:18 AM There are no CV joints for the wheels on the Utes. Guys are just popping tailshaft CVs due to the shaft hyper extending as the geometry is out. I have had SSL all round for over a year with no issues, no new noises, even the axle tramp has calmed down. Mine is a manual Feb 09. It is believed that earlier lowering methods were the culprits, reset leaves, blocks etc. Not heard of anyone doing a tailshaft with factory power for a long time. King springs revised the eyes on their leaves which fixed the problem I think.

Posted 05/11/11 11:57 AM Share Posted 05/11/11 11:57 AM Seems to be a bit hit and miss. Thing it also had to do with sudden changes in the angle of the shaft, like sudden WOT and hitting a bump, or loading it up and backing off. In saying that though, people have also done a tailshaft with stock suspension.
