Do You Think The Xr6t Needs Something...

Hey guys,

Does anyone else think that the XR6T needs something else to make it stand out from the XR range a little more?

You have the XT

Then the SR with the different spoiler/Rims

Then the XR6/XR6T with different bodykit/interior/etc

Then the XR8 with the larger rims as standard/XR8 Bonnet

Then the FPV's that are pretty much all different with Kits/Whees etc - GT/GT-P/F6/Force Series

Does anyone else think that the XR6T would benefit from something like a different front bar/bodykit? It's own rims? (I know the 18"are different to the XR6 in the FG - Thank you www.ford.com.au ) Maybe a different bonnet to the XR8?

It's great if you're one of those people that likes debadged cars. It's fine then as it looks like an NA XR6, but I'm proud to drive my turbo and I'd rather people knew what I was driving.

Anyone else like to see something else included with the T?

Yeah something different would be great, its aimed at the performance minded person not someone that just wants a step up from an xr6.

A more performance look is seriously need to decipher the difference from a n/a, its a sports car ffs not mums taxi....

I think the FPV's have the looking different covered, after all they are cut from the same taxi pie.

You can always tell a turbo anyway if you look for the cooler in the front and especially on the FG's with the larger shinier cooler. If you have a BA/F just get a mega cooler up front and that's all the differentiation you need.

To tool up for a new front bar would be extremely expensive and add a lot to the cost of the car and would probably look weird if you only did the front bar and left the skirts and rear bar alone. By the time that all happens with the extra cost difference you might as well buy the F6.

God it is bad enough now with just the turbo badge.....every 18yr old in a 4 pot japanese baked bean tin develops an irresistable urge to overtake the poor old XR. Making it stand out more would simply aggravate the problem.

Think I am kidding here? I have a neighbour with an 1800cc NA Nissan Pulsar....the usual one with the 5" exhaust tip and all the pulling power of a moped. He actually knocked on my door to see if I wanted to go for a drive and have a race.

I reckon something on the rear doors (talking FG here) where the XR6 badges are - they need something there. I've toyed with the idea of grabbing a couple of boot turbo badges off line and doing a mock fitment on the doors under the XR6 badge to see how it looks - could be good or could look sh*te, dunno.

The G6ETs at least have it spelt out on the front guard badges.

Oh and a different bumper would be an unneccessary headache. I'm fine with all XRs sharing the same look, but the subtle differences are nice (a la the red 8 on the XR8 badge - nice touch)

This is something that I would definitely think about doing. It´s all good saying that if you look at the car from the front or the back you know what it is...but quite often you´re looking at the side and you want something to difrentiate it from the NA.

Another thought, instead of putting the whole ´TURBO´boot badge on the doors, maybe just a red (or another colour that suits the colour of the car) ´T´after the ´6´...subtle but still tells people what´s really going on!
