Hi guys,

Just curious about something here...

At what sort of power levels are external wastegates needed?

What sorts of PSI/power is ok to run with say a ported internal gate?

That is a pretty good vid as far as external gates go but they have not mentioned anything about actually getting the exhaust to flow into the wastegate. Especially on that chinese manifold they have sitting on the bench, the wastegate pipe actually flows at about 120 degrees in the opposite direction to the manifold gas flow which can cause boost creep. Good wastegate flow is something which it seems even gcg have overlooked unfortunately.

A lot of people tend to think that just fitting an external wastegate will solve all your problems, this is completely untrue as a poorly plumbed external wastegate will not control boost effectively. It is in this area that I have done a lot of research and testing and I believe that the new ETM100 series manifolds ofer the absolute best boost control in the market today with rock solid boost control all the way to redline.
