Undo all the screws and starting from the bottom pull door trim off.

IMAGE_087.jpg

Unclip the electric windows cable. On the right side of the door push the plastic clip through. This will give you some slack on the cable.

Remove the lock using a T30 bit.

IMAGE_009.jpg

Swing the black clip holding the bar clockwise and remove the bar.

With the lock now out undo wire harness.

Undo the 2 screws to remove the actuator from the lock.

IMAGE_029.jpg

Undo the 4 screws securing the 2 halves together. Carefully pull the 2 pieces apart. There are 2 springs inside that can fly out.

Remove the broken gear and glue the gear back together. (Selley’s Quick Fix)

IMAGE_084.jpg

Using a 2.5mm drill bit drill down the centre of the gear.

IMAGE_086.jpg

Using the appropriate tap, tap the hole ready for a 2.8mm screw.

Put a drop of glue down the hole and screw the 2 pieces together.

Install in reverse order

Good Luck

Big thanks to XR06T for donating the broken gear. :eyebrows:

HaHaHa. I'm going to send the gear off tomorrow to get drawn. We will go from there. I have emailed the company that makes the actuator in Japan. Lets see if I get a reply.

It was good talking to you. :crybaby:

Beware second hand parts if you go that way. I paid $30 for second hand gear that was glued back together using one of the spring fittings to bond it together. That spring fitting part is meant to move freely along the gear and this does not, hence I can't fit the springs back in. In the drivers door I can't press my button down manually or unlock the door by pulling the door handle as the springs won't assits the gear in moving.

Just had the drivers side rear door actuator sh*t itself. Went to the local ford spares place and picked up a door lock / actuator for $60. Took about 20 mins to change over.. Nice and simple with the great write up by MY_xr6_turbo... Now she is all good.. Until the next one goes..Damn BA's...
