b-rad Donating Members 257 Member For: 16y 5m 28d Location: townsville Posted 17/06/09 06:45 AM Share Posted 17/06/09 06:45 AM (edited) Police tried to intercept the 22-year-old's turbo-charged 2002 Ford XR6 on the Princes Highway on Sunday morning, but it accelerated and took off down Elonera Road around 2am.Police caught up with the car at traffic lights at Lonsdale St in Dandenong and commenced a pursuit when the car allegedly ran a red light. The Traffic Management Unit van followed the car a short distance to Foster St but abandoned the pursuit when the vehicle is alleged to have almost collided with another car after running a red light. Police took the registration number and arrested the driver a short time later at an address in East Brighton. The man, from Bentleigh East, was charged with conduct endangering life and person, driving with a cancelled licence, manner and speed dangerous and numerous other traffic offences. He was bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court on 4 August.
