You said you wern't giving it hard throttle, in that case who tuned your car and what fuel were you running?

yeah ohh well sh*t happens.. when you do stuff or change stuff and dont get it retuned this stuff happens..

I only use BP 98ron and this had nothing to do with the tuner.. :buttonit:

like ppl say get it tuned when you change stuff... I learned my lesson lol

I have sorted out what I am getting too.. I am getting an Atomic 698kw short motor, race girdle, billet oil pump gears, atomic harmonic balancer and getting the head reconditioned.. also got new power steering pump as mine started leaking and new coil packs.. will also be getting new spark plugs and any other little things I need..

cant wait for this to start happening and the motor should be out next week some time and off to atomic..

I will keep this thread going for my build and add a few photos along the way too.. just started disconnecting wires pulled the intercooler and pipes off, pulled the radiator out, alternator and steering pump off today.. also brought an engine hoist so hopefully it might be out on the weekend if the rain stops..

yeah mate will be going straight for a retune.. I will just get a mild tune too its run in good then go till the turbo is maxed out lol.. probably wont start it till it gets to the tuner have to wait and see.. I am going to get my injectors looked at too just to make sure they were not a cause of what went wrong..

yeah cant wait should be good when its on the road again.. hopefully nice and reliable.. :stirthepot:

just a few more pictures.. took the plenum and lower section the intake, removed injectors and fuel rail and disconnected all wires connected to the motor.. have not been able to do much cos of the rain..

also have degreased all the parts I have removed and all cleaned up ready to be put back on..

also brought another new xforce cat so it bolts straight in.. if this one sh*ts itself like the last one I will get just get a decent 5inch one lol..

not much more to do to get the motor out just got to unbolt the gearbox take the starter motor off so its out of the way, then un blot the engine mounts.. slowly getting there lol :spoton:

so just bolting on a CAI witout tuning can cause something like this?

Seems a bit far fetched? All you're doing is altering the intake, which shouldn't make a difference?

Either way, good to see you're building it bigger and better.

What kind of clutch do you have?
