Just to add some thing I learned today.

I had some 20x10 and 20x8.5s fitted to my FG2 ute the weekend before last. Also fitted were kings SSL fronts and 2" blocks in the back.

But I wasn't happy with the feel from the back, it felt like on small bumps, the leverage of the 2" blocks would wind the spring a little and then release. The result was a tIny boing sort of feeling over small bumps.

My Missus noticed this as well when she drove it.

Also, as soon as it was lowered, there was a vibration felt on acceleration through the driveline and a harmonic vibration at highway speed.

I put the vibration issue down to the tailshaft somehow being under a new load so I called my mates at Ford and told them to price me a BF2 tailshaft.

Then I called WA Suspension in Osborne Park Wa and booked it in for today to reset the springs and remove the 2" blocks.

As soon as I drove it afterward the springy feeling was gone and, even better, the vibration is now gone.

So then Ford called back today as well and said a BF2 tailshaft would be $2150 !

I told them that for two grand, I'll get one made and STILL have money left over for prossies !

But that's not all.

Their spare parts guy apparently said that there has been a tailshaft update and that I may not need to change it out if I have the new one in.

But they can't tell till they get under it.

Which will happen tuesday when they fit my SECOND new diff under warranty.

Will keep youse informed.

But very happy now with my resets.

They came out 5mm higher than with the blocks but will probably settle a bit.

So, moral of the story is that resets ( for me anyway ) are the way to go over blocks.

Also, WA Suspension, fking top guys and very amenable to doing a deal on the resetting cost.

hmm your getting your diff replaced under warranty, you better watch out they might not do it if its lowered.

can I ask what dealer your useing in perth that does warranty, as titan ford dont seem to understand the whole warranty thing.

that's outragous for a tail shaft. my mate got a bf tail shaft for 130 from a wrecker, would be better off buying that and rebuilding it.

cheers, andy

Hahaha it's Titan Ford that's doing it for me.

No issues with warranty as they admitted warranty prior to me dropping it.

If I have diff issues in the future though, that could be a different story.

Bag it all round or gtfo I reckon lol. Not sure if you've heard or seen the purple FG XR8 ute here in Vic, POKEY..he's bagged all round and looks tough as nails parked at a show.
