Not sure about the Nizpro springs consistency, mine have started to go soft after 20,000k's...

My Nizpro springs have done 50 000kms with no drama.

And with ~12psi I'm sure they are fine, I was simply a little miffed when they claim the springs are rated some rediculous power level that is double what I'm running.

crow.also, according to a previous thread, your supposed to have valve springs installed at a correct height using shims, which could be different for each one.you would think that radical 800+rwkw valve springs would require this.I didnt get shims installed with my nizpro valve springs.

As stated in the other valve spring post, valve springs should always be installed at

specified height to obtain correct seat pressure.

I have Nizpro springs in mine installed by previous owners mechanic, must be alright

as I have done over 30 000k's on them myself and they have seen 20psi @ 6500 with

no problems.

For my new engine whenever it happens I am going for Comp Cams conical springs

have part number & specs somewhere from back months ago when I was pricing all bits up.

I cant rember the specs but recall the price to have been around $580 wholesale. The seat and open pressures

where very good and think the retainers where included.

Sorry I cant tell much of them at present but sure if you did some searching you will find them.

They may have been a v8 set to being USA made.

My BA XR6T is currently at the mechanics getting some Nizpro valve springs installed. Now the mechanic rang me and asked why the shims that came with the springs were different colours and sizes.

So I said hold off, and rang Nizpro. After a bit of a discussion on my power figure and such, Nizpro fella told me to re-use the original shims, as the nizpro supplied shims could cause just a bit more stress on the spring.

To put my mind at ease, has anyone used the nizpro spring and the standard shims from the BA? Just.. kind of stressing a little, seeing as I told the mechanic to use the standards, and hes nearly finished.

Any help?

I have used the nizpro springs with standard shims, the sprins started to go soft at 19psi after about 15,000k's. Nizpro sent me the shims to fix it - haven't fitted them yet..

If you are staying under 15psi with the standard turbo you should be fine without the shims mate, plenty of people ahve used them before.

I agree if your running big boost they do go soft around those k,s, I changed mine and made a big difference at the strip, but if your running15-17 or less they will be fine

cheers lee
