when you remove the ICC the car wont start dose anyone no why/what causes this

has anybody managed to start car with no ICC

my end goal would be to not have an ICC in at all as there will be other things there instead

Im not 100% sure, and someone might correct me here but I don't think it is really possible to start your car without the ICC installed. When I removed mine nothing would work, it seems to be the brains of the car.

Can I ask why you want it completely gone?

I assume its like smartlock of old, where if it recognises any change in its instrument cluster or ingnition barrel it goes into 'lockdown'. You might be able to get the dealer to overide, or maybe by reprogramming the keys.. But you would need to trick the computer into thinking that the same ICC is plugged in. you would need to work out all the HVAC controls and stuff too I assume?

You need the ICC for it to work.. other wise car wont start even if you bypass that, the icc controls the cluster etc, im putting a custom lcd screen in mine but im still using the icc just ripping out all the sht above the heater controls.

And I doubt you can get the icc standed functions to be displayed on an after market screen.

Idd like to be proven wrong though.

The main reason is that the ICC is in the middle of the Can Bus. I have heard some small success with the icc out and bridging the Can Bus lines so that they continue to the next modules.

you can start the car without the icc, it is 100% possible. you need to leave the bcm (body control module in) that is the plastinc box screwed to the bottom of the icc with all the connectors plugged into it.

interesting will have to give this us a shot tonight

@ YPURV4 I really hope to prove you wrong ATM im 80% positive I will but time will tell
