Hi Guys,

Just wondering if the LSD in the FG turbo sedans is the same as the LSD's in the BF turbo sedans? I know the ZF Autos both run the 2.73 ratio.

The reason I am asking is ive been offered a brand new BF 2.73 LSD assembly to put into my G6ET, but I dont want to pull it all out only to find that the BF diff is not going to fit up etc

Na ZF autos behind the turbo 6 and boss engines in the FG use the 2.73 ratio which is the same ratio as the BF model turbo and boss ZF autos used.

Guess I'll just give it a go and see if it all bolts straight in and the tailshaft and driveshafts fit up with no issues.

Here is the label from my diff if that helps. If you are going to install an LSD in a G6ET then just check if the traction control still works as intended. I was led to believe that the TC programs between LSD and no LSD were different.

Cheers Benny.

Already looked into the TC programs but as I drive my car most off the time with it off it wont really matter LOL but I was told by a one of fords electrical engineers that the TC on the G6ET cuts in a bit earlier (due to the open diff) but the DSC mapping is "virtually" the same as the XR6T. He did also say that it is possible to change the "personality" of the G6ET's TC/DSC to match the XR6T's and that will be looked into once the diff is in.

This is being done in 4 weeks time as my Auto is suffering very bad 1st to 2nd shift shock/lag/slip and when the ZF tech was flown to adelaide last week to check my car he saw that the PCM personality didnt match up to the ZF's TCU personality and hence the issues im having, he even showed me on the dyno by ramping it up in 4th only to find it hit the limiter at 204kmh not the 230 that the turbos are supposed to be limited to. I really think I bought a late friday afternoon lemon with all the issues ive had but they are slowly getting sorted which is the main thing

Well just a quick update:

I decided to go a head and buy the BF 2.73 LSD assembly for my G6ET, which arrived today BUT I have been told by a mate of mine that picked it up for me that the diff "yoke" on the BF is different to the FG.

Now as im not home (im away for 2 week due to work) I cant have a look and compare it to my FG, so im just wondering if anyone out there knows for sure if the BF diff "yoke" is indeed different to the FG diff yoke and if so is it a simple case of unbolting the diff yokes and swapping them over (so my FG yoke onto the BF LSD assembly)

Did you get this in? Has it totally transformed your driving experience? What was the cost?

Yeah mate fitted it up, all pretty straight forward.

TC/DSC still works fine, car drives as good as before with it switched on and when its switched off it will pull nice drift style moves if I want it to, so much so that im up for new rear tyres after just 7400kms from new.

All up cost me just under $600 (complete diff assembly and freight)
