I have done over 50k on my current tune and no issues with the Box, you will need a Trans Cooler and a Good tune, plus regular auto service. If your going to drive it like you stole it then it will not last more then a few months.

as others have said, tune matters when it comes to these boxes.my box let go with less than 300 because of the tune, which was done by a well known qld tuner.pm me if your in qld and ill let you know the tuner.just drive it and dont worry about it.if it goes it goes.when, or if, it comes time to rebuild, do your research and get it rebuilt by a proven shop.

G'day all. I'm a 'Brisbanite' looking at finding a Turbo ute, as much as I'd love a BF, the prices seem vastly higher than something similar in perth.. So anyway, I'm looking at the BA's, and like many, I've heard the 4 spd's are average. My question is this, a 04' BA would you go the 4spd or the manual?

I know that excessive torque can break the trans, and so can heat.

Would there be benefits in using 2 good trans coolers in conjunction with each other to reduce heat?
