By the way I'm in ADELAIDE SA so any good tuners in SA you can recommend would be appreciated.many thanks :-) Aaron. Aaron1988 Member 3 Member For: 15y 5m 22d Posted 09/06/09 03:41 AM Author Share Posted 09/06/09 03:41 AM so if I opt for the 4 speed statndard auto over the 5 speed manual, the aps kit gets you around 280 rwkw, the 4 speed auto should need no modification and should handle the increase of power. anyone got the aps kit on the 4 speed auto and can give some feedback to support this??cheers. I had a ba xr6 t 4 speed auto, making 283 rears. For the first year I was giving it a pounding, doing second and 3rd gear burnouts all over the place and it held up, for a year. Then I got it rebuilt and " strengthened ", and from the word go it wasnt responding well. Then the motor went and I cracked the sh*ts and got rid of it. Recently I seen my old ride advertised on the ls1 forum, and it stated in the description that hes also had the auto rebuilt. Stay away from the 4 speeds if planning to modify. Personally if I was going to buy another T, id would be a 6 manual.....

It wasn't a factory option. The auto is the way to go if the other option is a T5.Most autos these days aren't modded anywhere near as much as they used to be. The fact is some shops tried to do to much to them and this actually made them weaker. Give Bayswater Autos a call and they'll give you an idea of what's required. Getting the 280rwkw's shouldn't be a problem. I'd get...Process West Stage 1K&N filter with F6 lower intakeInjectorsValve springs (if required)Dump and catTrans coolerWalbro intank pump (if required).
