Hey I was reading a fuel consumption thread earlier and everyone was saying they were getting, at the most, 14-15L/100 on there N/A falcons.

I'm driving a BF 1-tonner and I drive it hard sometimes like when I need to put ricers in there place, but I'm no lunatic. I'm happy when my consumption goes down to 14L/100. Right now it's up around 17-18L/100 and I've been a granny lately. Most it has been up to was 20L/100.

Highway drives I get down to about 10-11L/100.

Why is my falcon using more then everyone elses :(

I even read somewhere this guy who had a blown XR8 who was getting something like 13L/100 city driving!

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Anybody else have any ideas?

Ive reset my fuel consumption and have been driving reasonably conservatively and still maintain a 16.5L/100km reading.

I'm using regular unleaded fuel, not e10.

Somebody please help!

Might be a silly question, but how much weight do you have on the back?

Nothing at all. It's got a heavy duty steel tray.

Sides of the tray are off so it's just a flatbed. Got nothing on it, not even a toolbox.

In my BF 5speed 1 tonner I get around 13-14lt per 100ks around town when I don't worry about fuel. Around 12lt/100km around town if I granny it.

And about 10-11lt/100km on the highway.

I've got a steel tray, an leave the sides off aswell. I weighed it at 1700kg at a weigh bridge.

How long have you been running Ultimate?

I found with other car that when you start using the 98's (Vortex Gold, Optimax, Ultimate) its takes a couple of tanks before you start to see a difference.

As previously mentioned what are your tyres at?
