I'm guessing you would expect around 400rwkw... Edited 07/06/09 06:45 AM by fordboy1981

They are not exactly tractable below 2500rpm and would not pass any semblance of an emmission or sound test. Add in that the cars are gutted and weight 1350kg, and you can see how that measly little 5L is not doing it so tough after all.Full credit to any N/A 5L running a 10.8 @ 134, but all of the above teamed with a sequential manual and full spool rear end ensures that the racecar performs as you would expect.Who told you they only run 6 degrees of timing max? Whincup, this is his first visit to Willowbank and during an on track interview he was saying he was absolutely blown away by drag racing, Lowndes who has been here before is totally enjoying his Winternationals Experience. They certainly sound like V8 Supercars, they are on the limiters, as they leave the line, they stall it Whincup recovers first, Lowndes wouldn’t even qualify for the street bracket, but Whincup would just make it.06/06/2009 2:05 pm 21Deg,47%H,1011mB,1046RA,(TT)38Deg 1 Right Lane JAMIE WHINCUP V SUPERCAR , 888 Left Lane CRAIG LOWNDES V8 SUPERCAR , #Tst RcNo 162_______Time Trials, Test and Tune ® Right Win M:2.469NUM CLASS HCAP REACT 60 330 660 MPH 1000 ET MPH 1 EX 0.00 0.567 2.089 4.906 7.199 107.40 9.170 10.840 134.53 2888 EX 0.00 0.646 3.775 7.114 9.488 104.55 11.505 13.230 126.69 2Whincup and Lowndes again, now look Whincup has decided for the big tyre smoking burnout, Lowndes just a short water burnout, Whincup is out, he is running a fantastic pass, but Lowndes stalls it off the start line and yet again wouldn’t make it into super street. DanielIts in there regs and Paul Morris told me it about after Mark Winterbottom's qualifying time at Indy a few years ago was disqualified because his car briefly exceeded the maximum 6 degrees ignition timing rule.Another useless bit of info is that all the major engine components like crank, rods, pistons, flywheel etc have a minimum weight rule that they must be above... CAT600 Member 50 Member For: 18y 11m 23d Location: Perth Posted 08/06/09 01:45 PM Share Posted 08/06/09 01:45 PM (edited) Its in there regs and Paul Morris told me it about after Mark Winterbottom's qualifying time at Indy a few years ago was disqualified because his car briefly exceeded the maximum 6 degrees ignition timing rule.....Ok, it didnt seem right (the cars only having 6 degrees ignition timing) it is actually 6 degrees of VARIANCE that is the rule:An extract from the Season 2009 operations manual:14.2.4 The ignition timing of any engine must not vary by more than six (6) degrees while the engine is above 4,000 rpm and above 10 percent (10%) throttle opening. In other words, if at 4001rpm and 11% throttle you had 18 degrees of timing, at any point up to either 7500rpm and/or 100% throttle, you would be limited to a maximum of 24 degrees of timing.Daniel Edited 08/06/09 01:46 PM by CAT600

Does anyone know how many runs they did?they did three runs but on the last run lowndes ran the quickest time of the day but he missed the start left about .1 later than whincup so he ran faster but still lostconsidering how loud the v8s are at QR every year it was kinda funny that compared to everything else running they sounded like two stock xr8s sitting on the line couldnt even hear em really BTW their runs looked really slow compared to the nitro funny cars that ran straight after em (4.99!!!!!)
