As im sure most people would know, tools aren't cheap.I spoke to the dealer about getting microwave sensors throughout the car. so in the back and front. microwave are good cos you can have the lid open, or off and still be able to set the alarm. works like motion sensors ive been told. so if someone breaks open the lid or puts their hand in while it is off then it will go sound.they want about $1000 inc fitting etc. not sure if that is good or if they are trying to make some money back off me after sale.I will look around. does anyone know or have this kind of security in their ute? and how much they paid and where I could get it.other thing is I want some nice tint. I want about 16%. but im told if I crash and insurance deems that to be the cause then wave goodbye to insurance.so I was thinking of going that "street legal" tint. been told its pretty good. but they quoted me about $595.00 for the tint. when I was quoted about $250 for the 16%. the 16% was quoted from TKO in Victoria park in WA. thanks in advance. Posted 05/06/09 11:15 AM Share Posted 05/06/09 11:15 AM Congrats mate, awesome colour too Im with Tab, I only got dealer protections only because they matched the random numbers I pulled out my arse. Didnt get the the face to face sales crap but got a call a few days later. I made up some numbers on the spot and the girl matched it and I was stoked. Everything except fabric protection (did it all myself) for $500. With regards the window tint, I would suggest a film from MEP Films called EMINM35. It's as dark as you can go and still be considered legal. Although it contains no metal it still has a heat rejection of 50%. Although higher in outright performance Metal films are generally not recommended for late model Fords as they can cause some electrical interference in certain circumstances due to the radio antenna being in the glass. I believe the FG ute may be the exception to this with the ariel on the roof. The tint should cost you between $200 - $300 depending on the film type chosen.Cheers Big AL Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/58279-yet-another-new-fg-on-the-block/#findComment-886629 Share on other sites

I went with 20% on the wind down windows and ambulance tint on the back and rear fixed windows. It sounds dark but from the inside it is still really good you can see everything it only looks dark from the outside.
