I'll be driving along at a steady 80km/h or so, and the revs keep changing between 1500 and 2100, back and forth. It seems fine when fully warmed up.Now has any one else had issues since moving to transmax, as the gearbox was well behaved on the stock oil. I changed over as insurance now the car is making so much power power. It's only done 18000km.

So if I return the car and they check it when cold they'll see the level is low. If this is the problem I'm not impressed as they said they've done quite a few and the fill procedure is well documented.Thank you.

WarrenK New Member 10 Member For: 16y 2m 11d Posted 26/06/09 11:03 AM Share Posted 26/06/09 11:03 AM Trev,By using Transmax you oil you have more than likley stuffed your gearbox ($5 - $6000 exchange from ZF) and any remaining warranty that you might have had for the gearbox from Ford is now void. There is only one oil specied by ZF to use and only this oil should be used. There is only one company that makes the oil specified by ZF to use in their gear box. This is available through companies like Ford, Motor Spec etc. The first thing ZF will do when determining if it is a warranty will test the oil. Wrong oil, no warranty. Do not believe anyone that says otherwise. Remember they are not the ones paying for the repairs.

By using the rip off Fraud fluids benefits the box how ?and not just because Fraud said
WarrenK New Member 10 Member For: 16y 2m 11d Posted 26/06/09 11:26 AM Share Posted 26/06/09 11:26 AM Because the viscoity of the oil is different. This causes the clutchs to absorb the new oil and alters the characteristics of the friction material. As the computer is calibrated in micro seconds for shift quality to suit the correct oil, the use of other oil will cause slippage of the clutches(flaring), harsh shifting which can lead to transmission failure. Even after an expensive oil flush with the correct oil it cannot guarantee the reversal of the problem.
