Hello Queenslanders,

We are heading to Qld's/gold coast in about 2.5 weeks for a family holiday hitting the theme parks (Sea World and Movie World).

Just wondering for those in the area which places would you recommend staying? Price around $100 per night or under as were not their throughout the day so we don't need flash just a place to sleep which has to be clean. 2 adults - 2 children - 2 bedroom.

Name of the place would be great and or a link so we can check it out and close to the theme parks. We have a look over the net but there are so many places to pick from. Your help would be great.

Also which theme parks would you recommend for 4 and 3 year old? Sea World is in, but not sure on the others.

Many thanks Heaps.

movie world would probably be the best for the little ones, its boring as bat squat if you are over about 10, but seeing all the charcters walking around would probably have the little ones jumping off the walls

dreamworld is pointless for them, its much more suited to the bigger kids and not really the right time of year to go to the water parks

Sea World is a great day out, Movie World better than Dream World for the littluns.

Accommodation have you tried http://wotif.net.au/ always found it pretty good

Vist the Seaworld Nara Resort web page.. You can get a package that includes entry to the big 3, Seaworld, Movieworld and DreamWorld.

I took my kids to Seaworld and stayed over night, best decision ever.. When they start to whine about sore legs etc, you can just go back to the room, kick back, go for a swim ( its a bit cool atm, but okay if you`re Victorian ) and recoup lost energy..

We did it over the xmas holidays so I coulda gone to Vanuatu with what it cost, but off peak - winter might be cheaper.

For little kids, a drive to Brissy and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is absolutely worth it.. My 9 yr old loves koala`s so we go there a few times a year.. I like it cause it`s not too dear, it`s relaxed and its has some decent animal shows, like a sheep dog demo and a bird of prey show.

if you wanna spend around $100 a night stay as far away from surfers as possible, the further away the cheaper it gets

id check out seaworld nara resort and get a package

Great Idea spin :spoton: . We would be able to go back have some lunch relax a bit then go again in the afternoon. This would also save boot space as we wouldn't need to take the stroller.

so you listen to the two nsw guys but not the two qlders

Relax turbo vixen all info is helpful mate :buttonit: . Sea world resort looks good ATM. Bit pricey but just means wife would have to spend less at the factory outlets and some big shopping place centre.

-----------------------------------------

Found out that a work friend’s sister is a manager at sea world and has given discounts out before to fellow staff. I'll ask tomorrow what the best price she can give us. Lucky break........fingers crossed.

Thanks
