Neither XCal1 or XCal2 have the available memory for the ZF firmware, so to tune these transmissions you need an XCal3. All of the information I am getting on the XCal3 is that there is no requirement to change any time soon. It would seem to be supported in Australia indefinitely

Torque reduction can be applied independently in a dedicated table for every possible shift event. The short answer is 'yes'

Currently - or with your existing tune - there is still reduction happening inside the ZF from delays in shift event timing through to allowed clutch slip. Its pretty involved :)

Will the TCM flash be separate to the PCM as in a separate flash option, or will it flash both pcms together..

I ask this in terms of wasted flash time.. No need to flash TCM if you haven't made any changes (and wasting more time during the flash process).

How smooth are the shifts able to be made while retaining performance?

Or perhaps more practically: Can the shifts be made smooth but fast in manual mode/Perf mode but remain silky smooth in lazy D mode?

I'm wanting the refined feel back, it's a bit jolty at times with just the pressures messed with.

How much different are the ZF in the FG to the one ZF's that come in the new Jag's whith the paddle shifts on the steering wheel and the auto throttle blib on downshifts?

Can the throttle blip be added to the downshifts as stever mentioned just in performance mode?
