Currently the accredited Herrod SCT ZF Transmission tuners can adjust the following characteristics of the 6HP26 transmission –

-TCM based vehicle speed limiting

-Shift schedule, which allows changing transmission shift points and how long the

vehicle holds onto each gear in all transmission modes

-Kick-down sensitivity

-Change of shift pattern for differential gear changes

-Manual mode downshifting

-Eliminate holding second gear till standstill

-Adjust torque converter stall settings

-On-coming and Off-going clutch shift behaviour for built transmissions

-Running Line Pressure for high power applications

-Shift pressure per shift event based on actual gear

-Maximum shift time and amount of slip for each shift

-All of these pressure and time/slip settings are discrete for up-shift and downshift

-Torque limits for general transmission operation

-Torque reduction for each shift event

-Maximum transmission torque capability for built transmissions

-Torque characteristic to adapt for different viscosity transmission fluids

This is a brief point form description of the kind of effects and results that can be achieved via adjustment and calibration of the several hundred files in the transmission

adjust torque convertor stall settings? can it be made to stall up to 2500-3000rpm eliminating the need for an aftermarket convertor?

It can not change the mechanical stall speed of a convertor, this is controlled by how much slip the convertor will give compared to how much torque the engine makes at that rpm, but what it does allow is the TCM will not command any drop in torque to the ecu to allow the car to be stalled with out cutting power or going limp mode.

at present the standard ZF starts to command torque from the stall speed based on time, that's why some cars appear to be able to run high stalls and others can't, but those that can should not be able to stall it up for any length of time, basically just flash the convertor up to stall speed on launch, ie processor code C8LA will command 70.19% torque for 1 second at stall, after that time period has lengthened, it will only command 20%, this can be changed to 100%.

Mine stalls to 2800rpm in first and almost 3500rpm in 2nd 3-5psi boost in 1st and almost 10psi in 2nd

And it's stock with below mods

That's a very exciting list.

-Eliminate holding second gear till standstill (the slowslow WHOAH behaviour of feeding throttle on when rolling and taking off too slowly before it decides to select that crazy first gear)

-Adjust torque converter stall settings (this will be interesting even if it's only a little)

-Shift pressure per shift event based on actual gear (per gear! Nice)

-All of these pressure and time/slip settings are discrete for up-shift and downshift (again, nice)

-Manual mode downshifting? Is this for stopping you from selecting too low a gear and hitting the nasty limiter (or lockup!)?

Can this finally fix the shunt when coming to a stop with the torque reduction removed?

That shunt relates to

-Eliminate holding second gear till standstill

Sweet, tuners should fix this for free when getting a tune done as its farking annoying.

What about adding throttle blip when downshifting in manual mode?

According to a post from Herrod on another forum, there is no adjustment for this available.

The Jags that use the ZF and the paddle shifter have this as standard!!!
