Amongst all the background noise its easy to do....now let me go looking for them....

Ok I found it. My advice would be to have the transmission internal settings (mechanical) set back to factory, and then use the tuning software to adjust the pressures up where need be. It probably could be done backwards as you request, but I have never tried it so cant give you a definite answer.

Cool. I expect Simon at XFT will start from the base unit and tweak pressures from there, I'm assuming from your description it is possible per shift, so it makes sense. I'll probably let him work out the initial bugs and things before getting mine done anyway :)

How different have they been?

Does Ford do any mods to the ZF when they get delivered from Germany or do they just install them and treat it as a 'black box'?

They move the map locations around in the software a fair bit, which is typical of most manufacturers whether they be Ford, Holden, or even Subaru :)

Firmware upgrades for current owners of x3 to suit the ZF programming will be avaliable from your tuner at no cost ,

for the tuner to be able to calibrate your ZF trans a new firware must be installed.

herrod are still testing and once they are happy with the firmware a release date will be announced

how much longer ??? 2weeks or 2years???????

I have seen the data for the ZF tuning on Tunas laptop its all there Presure adjustment,Torque calabration so you can still change gears with full torque in each gear plus a range of other adjustments.Street tuna has done some training sessions already whoo hoo

Sorry if this has been asked before but will access to the ZF's mean that the overboost problems on gearbox will no longer be an issue? If they are directly related!

On a factory BF model for example, boost will rise on the shift. It's usually within the overboost threshold, hence no codes.

More strategies are showing the ZF tables on each AdvantageIII update :-)

Whether its one year or ten, the ability to tune the ZF is a privileged not a rite, so kiddies don't get your kickers in a knot if it doesn't happen within your expected timeframe.

Ability will become avaliable to end users once tuners have done a one day training course at Herrods , tuners will be notified next week to book in for the one day course so it wont be long.

Overboost is due to spark retard commanded by torque reduction during gearshift.

The wastegate port is not adequate enough to bypass that amount of exhaust gas and causes a few psi boost raise during the shift
