hey, been talking to my tuner, and he told me going over 400 will start to put strain on my zf box. and beefing it up wont go to far further.. I want to know if im heading for big numbers say 500-600rwkw what are other options to go to? I really like the drivability of the zf though :(

maybe pm BCL mate , he has a zf running 400+ he might be able to tell you more

and I know the later f6's have a better bottom end but I would be more worried about that falling apart before the box

Your right 390rwkw is a bit under-powered.

If it is going to be used on the street pretty regularly, and you are looking to limit power to about 450-500 rwkw, then a C9 or TH400 3 speed would be your option's there, otherwise anything over that power wise a 2 speed Powerglide is pretty much your only option.

ive got the exact same problem I'm looking at pushing it further sooner rather than later but I dont want to change the zf because its so drivable & is still useful at the drags basically its a great all rounder. I vote me not being the guinea pig. I intentionally wont push it past a point if the box wont handle it but would consider having a spare box designed for drag racing & just change them when needed maybe.

If its purely for drags then go for an old school, built auto.

For a nice daily driven streeter...

I'll be in the same boat later on, Id love to see a safe 450-500wkw through the ZF, but can it be done...

My machanic told me there is a blue twin turbo XR8 ute out greenslopes way running around the street with a 2 speed race glide.

There will be some serious zf testing going on soon with a customers car, it will have more power than any other zf equipped car that I know of by a long shot so it will be interesting to see what happens there.
