mynameisplayer Member 27 Member For: 16y 6m 26d Posted 03/06/09 11:10 AM Author Share Posted 03/06/09 11:10 AM You guys need to go to mpcar.com a bit more. A carputer will..... play mp3, movies, video clips, tv, radio, sat nav, hands free mobile, play solitaire....?! All without the kids mashing the dvd's out the window etc... Yes itll cost more, and no the quality wont be worse - actually better - if you run a 720 or 1080 mkv...

Maybe more like 720x480i at the most.Would be nice though...lol
mynameisplayer Member 27 Member For: 16y 6m 26d Posted 06/06/09 09:09 PM Author Share Posted 06/06/09 09:09 PM No, the icc is not 1080 or anything near. Didnt say the screen was. I said a carputer is capable of that. Many in-dash blu-ray players on the market? The monitor(s) intended for the rear would be, but its just for the kids so dont care. kinggee Member 28 Member For: 21y 11m Gender: Male Location: Townsville, QLD Posted 07/06/09 01:53 AM Share Posted 07/06/09 01:53 AM Anyway... about the question of vga to cga conversion.http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/2019_1.htmlI 'think' Mr Bean tried on of these with his original mac mini install logged on mp3car. Pics on post 42.http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/worklogs/9...ject-log-3.htmlThe instruction manual is available on the site above.I am looking at doing the carputer thing myself using the wifes old laptop and this converter. If I don't use the laptop I will go for the Arcade VGA card for use in desktops.
mynameisplayer Member 27 Member For: 16y 6m 26d Posted 07/06/09 10:58 AM Author Share Posted 07/06/09 10:58 AM Thanks for the (only) serious reply kinggee. Im gunna continue this over at mp3car, I just wanted to flush the knowledge out here.... My intention is the run a mini itx mobo, hopefully one that can run the right video mode to go straight to CGA. I now know that composite video wont run straight in to the icc (my original question). XP ebmeded, centrafuse and gps, bluetooth and maybe a screen or two in the rear - run with cnx's touch overlay for the icc. Hopefully will stuff it in where the lock box is under the drivers seat. Any experiance appreciated....
