Interesting cos it wouldn't work on a 03 XR6T auto and 05 BA man in my case as well. I'll pass the info on so cheers.
millers Member 113 Member For: 16y 7m 7d Posted 19/06/09 05:35 AM Share Posted 19/06/09 05:35 AM if you can get the tune read again in VCM Editor there is a button to Check Configuration (about 3 in from the left on the menu bar thingy) that shows the cars VIN. chances are this will just be filled with random garbage instead of your VIN and it will say something like Lincoln LT for the model.if that's the case encourage your tuner to email all the tune files he can get like that to support@hptuners.com as they currently know of the issue and claim to have some ideas of how to fix it, but arent really interested in doing it because it is a lot of work and they rarely see the problem. bentles Member 121 Member For: 16y 3m 10d Gender: Male Location: melbourne Posted 19/06/09 07:30 AM Share Posted 19/06/09 07:30 AM the latest one was an 03 ba auto and mine is an 05 ba2 manual.I know ford can fix it, they just either wont or dont know they can do it. I have seen screen shots of the IDS software that shows where the VIN can be set. unfortuantly my local dealer wont even let me speak to the guys that work on the cars, let alone give me access to their software so I can fix it myselfcan you pm me what dealer you are going to? also what area you are in as im a ford tech and might be able to point you in the right direction where to go

PSI40L Member 175 Member For: 22y 22d Posted 03/11/10 01:10 PM Share Posted 03/11/10 01:10 PM heheheheh another bites the dust HA.let me give u gents some free advice usually an offf the shelf pcm does not have a vin number encoded to it because it is a replacement pcm ... your vin number will be open usually in the form of ############## a parameter reset will only code the computer to the keys and other modules in this case. if your car starts and runs then u will achieve nothing by doing this even if use fords ids as it took me months to cure this problem ....There is a feature in ford ids/vcm that manualy allows to pump a vin code in now this is sometimes successfull but it wasnt to mine lucky for hp tuners in the vcm editor there is a recalibrate for vin which manually allows ti give an identity to a pcm but dnt say to anyone I told u esp mario at vcm hehehehehe good luck guys ....
