The G6ET lacks bolstered sports seats and has softer suspension so you won't have as much fun on the track. But everyday driving would be more comfortable. It depends on what appeals to you.

Btw, is white leather available on the XR6T luxury ? It looks better than black.

The G6ET suspension is SFA softer than the XR6T, I had the chance before I bought my car (G6ET) to track test both at a dealer drive day and there wasnt much in it for "grip/handling". If anything the XR6T is a bit more "harsh" than stiffer.

Now that ive fitted Kings SSL springs allround that slight "softness" compared to the XR6T is not there anymore.

And the cashmere leather interior is only available in the G6ET.

eughh - cashmere interior looks good but is hugely impractical, so if you only plan on looking at the car it should be fine :spit:

Black leather also tarnishes easily, I've noticed that on my new jacket. I prefer the upscale look of the cashmere leather - looked awesome in a Merc I saw the other day. And it'll make a 50K car look like it's worth more.

I had to make the same decision...

I decided that I wanted a manual, no available in the G6ET. I also though the LSD was of massive importance but since driving both extensively I would be happy without the LSD, it still drifts elegantly...

I wouldn't trade my car for anything except sometimes a G6ET, I really like the cashmere leather, and different trimings (memory and all electric seats, chrome instead of silver door handles buttons etc. Even compared to the Luxury pack on the XR6T its plush. If your into conservative looks the G6ET is the sexiest car ever, and if you like agressive styling the XR is better.

Whatever you get I'm sure you will hold it dear. Dont stress because they are both wicked vehicles.

Hate to be another G6E owner claiming how good they are... but, non LSD isn't much difference I've haven't had a single spinner out of 6mths of driving, steps out fine, and I've lit them up a few times  and always solid 2 wheelers.

I was going for XR with lux pack and tech pack then did the maths and got G6E for the same price...

Believe me mate I see these things every day and its such a pain in the ass trying not to mark the bloody things before they go out the door.

No argument about the upmarket look and feel of the interior with the cashmere though - I'd go for a G6ET very easily, but at 22 and with a career of ford lease cars in front of me, the XR was the more logical choice for now. Just waiting on the exciting new stuff coming in the next few years. Swansong anyone? :beerchug:

Hey bunna, I can see where you're coming from. I'm 21 and will finish uni by the end of next year. I went from Camry to Falcon XT and now I want a Turbo - going to buy it brand new by money saved from working 2 jobs.

I do like the subtle Euro styling of the G6ET and an upmarket interior, but the 8K premium over the XR6T is no laughing matter. It has heaps of non-essential gimmicks like dual zone air-cond, auto dip mirrors, seat memory, and colour screen. But add in the options I want (premium audio, leather, and extra airbags) and I'll be forking out about another 4K, only 4K short of the G6ET. Tough call.

But now I can see why luxury cars have such a high profit margin - they contain heaps of overvalued options.

The luxury pack interior option on the XR6T includes the "colour" screen (premium sound) and dual climate control. If ya shop around there are some damn good G6ET deals out there which narrows the gap right down between it and a optioned up XR6T.
