I have a 03 BA XR6T with a 5speed manual. Over recent months I have been acquiring mods and plan to have them all fitted chasing low 300's in the near future. I also will be upgrading to the T56 box as well.

A few weeks ago I loaded the CAPA 98Ron tune on the car and after a few days the 130000klm stock clutch started to slip and obviously is not up to the task. I returned the car to stock to reduce stress on it but the clutch is now slipping under heavy throttle on the stock tune.

Getting to the point if I get the clutch replaced can the same one be used when I upgrade to the T56 (bearing in mind will be running low 300's)? If so does anyone have any recommendations on a good clutch to use? Car is mainly used as a daily driver so need something reasonably friendly on the street.

Suggestions will be much appreciated.

Cheers :censored:

I'm not 100% on using the same clutch between teh T5 and T56, but once you've done the conversion an Option 3 from Mal Wood automotive is about as friendly as you can get while holding the power - feels like a stock clutch.

Thanks senna.

My concern at this stage is that the current clutch isnt going to last until I can afford the conversion as I am still a couple of months away from getting the dough together (unless KRudd wants to make another donation???).

If anyone has any input on whether the same clutch can be used between the T5 and T56 it would help us out heaps.
