For those poor sods that have shuddering brakes don't waste your time going back again and againand again to the dealer to get your discs machined, lash out and spend $250 or so on the DBA slotted rotors. Money well spent I reckon. I know you shouldn't have to and the standard rotors should be up to the job but lots of things in life should be and they aren't so you need to take the proactive approach yourself. I manged to convince my dealer into free labour for fitting, I just paid for the discs themselves.

Stopping from 180km/h (private road in NT of course :innocent: ) is smooth and almost effortless, no shuddering or fade leaving you wondering if you are going to pull up in time. The only very slight negative thiong I've noticed is that on very slow stopping from not much more than walking pace you do notice a slight shuddering effect but this is because of the slots of course. Disc pads will most likely wear quicker but you can't have your cake and eat it too. You either want to stop or you don't.

I agree they are great.

In regrades to slight shudder when slow we had this but since I put the discs on the it has gone so this might be it. did you use dba gold or the standard slotted disc.

Thanks for that 'hoon.

Yeah noticed a slight brake shudder on the weekend (9200 km on clock). So if it gets worse will try the same deal with my dealer, gotta be cheaper for them than machining. :innocent:

I've had DBA drilled and slotted rotors on the front for six months and can confirm it is the way to go. $320 for the pair is good value.

The discs I got were just the standard, not the Gold. I don't plan on driving that hard normally I just wanted something that (hopefully) wasn't going to warp and will give me worry free braking on occasion I am doing some "spirited" driving.

I want to have this done before I arrive back in Australia. My car will be sitting in the dealer for a couple of weeks before I return. Where do you get your hands on the DBA rotors??

I'll have a yarn to my dealer and see if I can have them fitted.

Hocuschrist you can get the disc from the likes of repco and autoshops I think autobarn sellthem as well. On the coast I got them from global auto spares.

Wise investment I think.

Hello!...

I was on my way to check out shudder central (shudder thread) and saw this thread. It's good to see we have some happy customers.

You can buy these discs from just about any large autopart store in Australia. Also most workshops including some dealers will supply and fit.

Keep in mind that we have a range of choices.

DBA 504 = plain longlife rotor

DBA 504SL/SR = LH/RH Slotted

DBA 504X = Cross drilled

DBA 4504 = plain fast street/motor sport GT

DBA 4504SL/SR = Slotted fast street/motor sport

DBA 4504XS = wait and see. ;) There was a set on a XR6T Ute at the Ford/Expensive Daewoo show last week in Sydney.

DBA 5504 = Two piece for the fanatics - early 2004.

DBA 47868/9 = 13" Procar Brute Ute racing discs

DBA ? = 13" Two piece - early 2004

Yeh and that's just the front. Ditto for the rear (except t/piece)

The reason for so many choices is to allow the owner to customise a rotor to suit their application. Commoon sense would tell you that one part doesn't suit taxis, performace, club level street and track, GT Racing, show cars, ect

The sooner you guys toss the Genuine pads in the bin the better the results too. Bendix have released their BA pads and Ferodo still have to pull their fingers out but they are close.

Sorry, I've turned this into a spam page.... :innocent:
