Now I dont know much about turbos but after Ford sent him theschematics etc he removed it to find that in fact it needed to be repaired. A couple of days ago it was sent away to get re-conditioned and repaired and as of today it was repaired and is currently getting fitted to the car. I still don't know what its going to cost. Dule- remember the error code came up with wastegate. So I am assuming that this is the problem area that should have been throughly investigated. If their wasnt anything wrong with the Turbo I doubt that repairer would have done anything to it. We will all find out when its all put back together again and it is taken for a spin.Seduced- The mechanic rang heaps of places to get opinions. This Ford guy said it was a head gasket of all things. So he says if I had taken it to anyone else, everything would have got replaced till they found the problem and then given a bill for over two grand. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt that he had my best interests at heart as I have been going to him for a good couple of years now. Would a tuner have done any better? Look at 6 Leta post who said he took his to Nizpro of all places and is still got issues. Well I dont know, but I am anxious to get my hands on the car. Car feels great and feels smoother than what It was. Not to sure if its because I havent had it for about a month, but just feels that way. Total cost including labour & reconditioning of the Turbo was $1369. This also includes new wastegate solenoid, Gaskets, studs etc and Fuel regulator + 50 bucks worth of fuel . I am happy that I have the car back but a little hesitant to give it throttle more than I have too.Again thanks guys for all the help etc- Much appreciated or all the good sugestions everyone gave. Drove it to the mechanics asap and docked $294.69 ,3 Coil packs and a set of 6 sparks later. I am not impressed with this heap. I think its slowley becoming a lemon and I dont even drive it hard. BIGGUNS Member 15 Member For: 16y 2m 27d Posted 24/07/09 09:29 AM Share Posted 24/07/09 09:29 AM Hey guys just found this thread, last week it sarted stuttering if I floored in first so I read a few treads and saw it could be the coils or spark plugs. Canged the spark plugs on the weekend and fixed her beuatifully - more power than b4 - no probs right? wrong - coming home tonight after 1 week and when flooring it and it hits second it sort of stutters and loses power for around half a second b4 picking up again and regaining power, its hard to test without losing your licensce! So last week the prob was that it stuttered and lost power as soon as you hit it now after the spark plugs it stutters and loses power for a little while then hits it and bang your away until 2nd and the same thing happens, sorry if I'm babbling but its good to put it out there to stop crap like having you beast at the mechanic for weeks, going to change the coils next week and see what happens - will keep posted... If anyone can offer any insight it would help but if it made a difference changing the plugs it must have something to with the ignition system ( you'd think )... I am yet to take it to the mechanics but will be pissed off if its the turbo as its 100% stock.I rang the mechanic and he said it might be the wastegate stuck open but will post any futher updates
