Id say take the earlier advice and get the thing onto a dyno where they can measure all players. At least you will know where to focus your fault finding. I'd say its still a sensor by all the things you have replaced. Make sure you let us know what it was when you fix it.

Cheers

man I had a rough idle problem to ,the car would idle like a top fueler and rock from side to side. took it to ford and they couldnt find the problem then tryed my self to fix it with changing plugs , coils and stuff , it didnt help . ended up biting the bullet and taking it to nizpro and they spent a day changing every thing from cam , crank sensors to a new computer to o2 sensor you name they changed it and still could not fix the problem .

I ended up getting them to tune the car and play with the idle and get it to not shake around , its not fixed but its 70% better. I was waiting for my warrenty to run out befor mods but stuff it ford could even help me so now im going nuts on mods lol

Three and a half weeks at the mechanic and find out what was wrong with it.

IT WAS A F**KING Turbo Failure!! So their you have it. Ford sell turbos for $5000.00 and the blastered car wasnt even moded. It was a stock standard peace of sh*t too. Not Happy one bit. :eyebrows::innocent: . Thanks guys for all the suggestions you gave. I really appreciate it. Wish it could have been on a mor happier note.

I spoke to the mechanic and he said that he aint going ti buy jak sh*t from ford. Apprently he will look into options etc to either recondition the one I already have, or buying aftermarket. Whatever the case at least we found out what it was.

Hey I had the exact same problem with my xr. I replaced coils, filters, oil, tps sensor, piping, clamps etc........

IT WAS A FAULTY TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH. NOW WHEN I TURN IT OF IT FLOGS. WHEN IT IS ON APPRENTLY WHEN IT SENSES THAT IT HAS BROKEN TRACTION IT TURNS OF A FEW COILS OR SOMETHING WHICH MAKES IT FEEL LIKE ITS MISSING.

:spoton: so happy now!!!!

Without knowing the full story....

HOW THE HELL DID HE MISS A BUGGERED TURBO?

Had you taken it to a tuner, would have spotted in a matter of moments.

hey mate, my car has similar problems just want to rule this out, did you turbo spin freely if you turned it by hand or did it have any shaft play in it.

Turbo???? You said it comes onto boost and than looses power and starts idling like sh*t? How the hell does that point to a turbo?

I would get someone else to check it out before spending a grand or two on another turbo.

And as already said, It took him 3 weeks to figure out it's a turbo????
