needboost Member 2 Member For: 15y 11m 19d Posted 28/05/09 12:01 PM Share Posted 28/05/09 12:01 PM G,day guys. I own a ba xr6 (non turbo) ute. and desperately need more power, and I was checking out vortech superchargers from KPM (Adelaide). They say I can get 305rwkw from it however at a cost of nearly 8 grand its quite expensive. just wondering if anyone has had this done and if so is it really worth it? thanks

You are trying to get power out of an NA6. As opposed to a T.Unfortunately no contest the T will be a much cheaper option to extract a heap more power. Many guys have done it could be done between $1500 - $4000 if you know the right people. In the end, it's more cost effective to buy a T as there are some other differences aside from the spinny thing under the bonnet.

Speaking from my experience, its not worth it. I made a a little over 350 rwhp and spent a fortune trying to get there. If I had that time over again I would have bolted on a turbo.... I think ill just have to put up with the lack of power for a while longer, at least until I turn 25 so my insirance doesn kill me. thanks again

Would see some performance improvements and better fuel economy.Worth a thought...

If it makes you happy go for it.Just remember that the motor will be right on the edge at 300, wrong fuel and bang.I have a FG, with just a exhaust, filter and tune spits out 290. You will need exhaust and injectors to go with it. As for issue I doubt you will make enough power to have to many issues. Remember the boost is progressive, peak boost comes at peak rpm...
