Hey guys,

Couldn't find anything specific to this question in search, so hopefully I haven't missed anything! When I eventually choose an FG (buying 2nd hand) if I get one with the premium sound pack...is that good enough? If I do want to upgrade the sound system, is it easier to do that with the standard sound system?

Based on other posts, I believe the colour screen is only available with the luxury pack and not the premium sound pack correct?

Appreciate any info and advice guys!

Cheers

Mish

it depends mainly on if u want the colour screen or not.

if u wanna play dvds and stuff in the car go premo.

if u just want sound get STD and whack a aftermarket HU in

it depends on how wild u wanna go with your audio setup

I agree its pretty over rated, ive got it but ive still installed after market gear. The speakers with the premo are alright for a standed feature, I give em hell and there still working.

Premo sound is barely ok IMO. Updated sub with a Rockford Fosgate Punch (P2D28), makes a big difference, without going overboard.

Direct bolt up for the OEM pos.

Is it possible/worth it to upgrade the speakers and sub and leave the standard unit in there? Or change the unit, leave the colour screen and upgrade the speakers?

Speaker upgrade is the easiest upgrade to do and while you've got your door trims and parcel shelf out you should add a liberal coating of some sort of noise suppression material to those areas.

Got premo sound.. didn't amaze me

just used the colour screen for hooking up an inbuilt DVD player + Ipod interface.

Still had to chuck in a sub + Amp to get the sound I was looking for...

Okay so it is possible to hook up a DVD player to the existing colour screen. Which I'm guessing would be easier then upgrading the standard screen. Could the upgraded screen still show all the original info...like temp climate control etc?

However I am more the guy who will rock up to a sound shop and say fix it and give them a fat wad of cash...although I do have a lot of mates who are really good at this stuff to actually! Guess it'll give me the chance to learn as well.

Oh, and that's another thing...I don't use a bloody Ipod! How bout MP3 player hook-up rather then only Ipod...sh*t's me a bit!
