Just got my car tuned with f6 snorkle, injectors and stage 2 PW intercooler. Good power for mods I reckon

However clutch is slipping bad third and fourth

A quick question to any other guys who had their cars tuned to 300+kw, does your rev limiter cut out at around 5300rpm?

My car didnt before the tune but now I cant really take it passed 5, this gives me a real short power band of 4000-5000, to get to 100km/h

I need to be 1/3 way through third.

Car is a 2003 BA xr6 5 speed

thanks!

Sorry to be the bearer of less than positive news but...............

1/ Unless your tuner lowered the rev limiter, there is clearly another issue. Possibly valve springs. This or another problem should have been identified on the dyno/road test prior to taking the car away. Take it back to the tuner ASAP

2/ Your clutch is probably toast, budget for an upgrade

3/ Also at that power level your gearbox will grenade itself sooner rather than later budget for a T56

The valve springs and fuel pump are stock. I asked for a safe tune and they gave me 306kw :S

Yeah they said the gearbox is on its way out and I'm saving for a clutch atm.

I Drove my car today and it seemed to go to 5,500 alright without it cutting out (stop pulling).

Is it supposed to be able to rev all the way to 7,000rpm ?

the tuner should have checked how the valve springs were coping before handing you back the keys...

or maybe he did and dialed in a lower rev limit to compensate. springs and bigger pump should be next on your list and will allow for a SAFE 300+ tune.

talk to the tuner asap and get some answers. if they are not clear then go to someone else... :gooff:

wow man, I'd be taking that car back to the tuner..

the turbo should spool and hit almost full boost by 3100rpm, and pull hard from 2750rpm..

it sounds as though the tune is a bit weird dude..

I wouldn't hit full boost until you sort it out.

You need to do fuel pump, clutch, cooler, etc to get a 'safe' 300+ rwkw...

a T56 should be on the cards as well.

hhhmmm......

turbo lag is always gonna be there a bit. but it definitely shouldnt feel like a slug. do you have a dyno slip you could post. we could see whats going on with afr's etc.

oh yeah, and :gooff:
