Yep, flames FTMFW!

My old car used to do it on a daily basis when she was driven hard. Shifting, backing off etc. Atmo venting BOV and straight thru 3" exhaust will do that on a WRX though!

my car doesn't pop flames and its got a high flow cat too. whats the trick to doing it with an auto? is it as simple as say holding it in second gear, give it stick to like 5000rpm then backing off suddenly? I guess it all depends on the tune as well, and how rich its running?

You really want no restrictions in the cat / muffling but and to get the exhaust nice and hot (hard driving). Illegal, blah blah blah

Smashing limiter works on some cars (2l ricers!). Or if you've been driving hard and let off the accelerator it'll overfuel I think.

BUT often the driver wont notice. Sometimes in the hills if its very dark and you look at the right time you might notice rear end get bit brighter. That'd be purely fluke mind you.

Not a ford and if you've seen my Targa Tasmania photo's, you might have seen these bad boys. Much FTW

Hi All

I have just recently got my car done up a little & now when I give it the stick it shoots flames....Is that bad?

Should I be worried .

Herturbo.

Gutted cat is a monster EPA fine, in the several thousand range. Flames out the back will cause you some attention in any State.
