Just Thinking DJ,

About 80% of the posts on here say something similar, but I think it may be something else.

Now that you mention it, I had my PS hoses changed recently and when I got the car back, every turn of the wheel resulted in a horrible grinding noise. Although you could not hear it when driving as you tend to turn lots less than when you are parking.

You may just have some air in the system. Look under the car and around the PS reservoir at the hoses and such and see if any fluid is seeping out. You'd notice a full blown leak, but check anyway. Look under the car and around the PS hoses.

If it is indeed air in the system, it shouldn't be fine one day then grinding the next unless there is somewhere in the PS system where air is entering.

To clear the air, your best bet is to jack up the front of the car and go from lock to lock until it clears, but as you don't know what the problem is yet, I wouldn't advise it yet. If this is not the problem, you will put unecessary strain on the system.

The only other thing I can think of is to try to address what Ace said... If it's under warranty get Fraud to give it the once over.

Cheers and good luck,

Dan
