So I rocked up to the servo this morning with my fuel gauge showing just over half a tank of petrol and the trip computer telling me I had 233kms to empty(indicating roughly half a tank of petrol left).

I then filled my tank to the first "click", went in paid and then started to leave when I notice my fuel gauge hasn't budged and still shows I've only got half a tank of fuel. I'm like wtf? so I turn the car off and on again and nothing happens.

Is it possible that whatever Ford use to measure the amount of fuel in the tank is broken or has this servo just ripped me?

Obviously I'm going to be ringing the dealer tomorrow but until then I'm throwing it out to brains of this forum for help before I go nuts.

Yep, 43.12L of Vortex....Also what's the tank size of the BFs? Mt old BA ute had like a 68L tank but that 43L from half would make my BF tank around the 80L mark right?

Tank size has always been a quoted 81 litres from Au to FG as to what you get in depends on the filler neck height and whether you go til it comes out.. with a tub on I'd get 83 in the fg all the time.. I gather its a stuck float in the tank unless they have a more modern method for doing it now.. if its a tonner check all the plugs on the top of the tank if its a tub take it to ford as too hard to get to without pulling the bin out

with the new tray the neck is lower so its down to 75 litres a fill

Cheers man, I'll take it to the dealer tomorrow and see what they say. I didn't think the servo pumps would be out that much, just thought it was a bit weird since I only filled from half way and haven't ever run it down to fumes.

Oh, here's a few pics of the offender...

Why not go fill it til it comes out and see what it takes .. Only takes 5 - 10k drive to use the neck bit anyway ..

I run mine dry every fill and have done since new .also fill it til it comes out too. Its the only way to get a decent range and I hate going to the servo and pulling out my card.. the less often you go the better it feels heheheheeee
